Whitetail buck on Oneida Co. hunting preserve has CWD
http://www.waow.com/story/30661378/2015/12/03/whitetail-buck-on-one...

Looks like a possible baiting ban for Oneida, Forest and Vilas counties starting January 2016.

Deer farms were the source of CWD in WI. However, the DNR has taken a very passive stance regarding the farms. In fact, when a herd in Portage county had to be destroyed because of wide spread CWD, found after an infected buck escaped, the state took our tax dollars and generously compensated the farmer at full market value. Think about that. His herd put the wild herd at serious risk and instead of being fined, we paid him.

Today, Dec. 16, the DNR Board passed emergency rules, lessening the regulatory requirements on fencing for deer farms. At a time when these farms pose a serious threat to the wild deer herd, our marvelous DNR has made it easier for animals to escape. This was done in response to federal regulations being tightened in 2012 to try and reduce the spread of CWD. I guess the farms made donations to the right campaigns.
